Kelly Steffen

Head Womens Track and Field Coach

Coach Kelly Steffen will begin her fifth year at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Originally from Bloomington, IL, Coach Steffen was an 8-time IHSA 2A state medalist in long jump, triple jump, high jump, 100 hurdles, and 300 hurdles. She was also a member of the IHSA 2A State Runner-Up team in 2010. From there, Coach Steffen continued her track and field career at Indiana State University. She was a 4-year letter winner for the Sycamores, specializing in the multi-events (pentathlon and heptathlon) and long jump. Her performances in the heptathlon and pentathlon earned her 3 All-Conference Honors at the Missouri Valley Conference Track and Field Championships. Along with individual performances, Coach Steffen was able to help the Lady Sycamores capture 2 Missouri Valley Conference team titles in her 4 year run at ISU.

As a multi-eventer, Coach Steffen is familiar with just about every event the sport has to offer but specializes in the horizontal jumps, high jump, and hurdles. Coach Steffen loves that track and field is just as much of a team sport as it is an individual sport. An athlete who sets high goals for themselves and their teammates will achieve great things with hard work, perseverance, and dedication! Go Spartans!
