Medalist at the state track meet: 21 relay Teams and 49 Individualist All-State

I have helped coach almost 100 individual all-state athletes and over forty relay teams while at St. Joseph-Ogden High School.  I was fortunate enough to have coached one All-American in high school and she still holds the state record in the discus for the state meet.  She is twelfth on the all time best throws list in the discus and sixteenth in the shot put for the state of Illinois. She later became a college All-American and still holds many school records at Indiana. She was a Big Ten Champion and held the Big Ten record for a short while.

News-Gazette Girls track coach of the year 2013

I was a member of St. Joseph-Ogden all-weather track committee that raised enough money to put in a new facility without any tax dollars from the high school being used in 2000.  We put in an all-weather track, bought new hurdles, pole vault and high jump pads, and renovated the shot area.  The area was secured with a new fence around the track.

Coach Gary Garrison and I were the responsible for the rule change in the pole vault. We did all the necessary paper work to get the National Federation of State High School Associations for Track and Field rules to allow new marking on the runways to aid in the safety for the athlete. Rule 7-5 Art. 19
